League leaders Barcelona and arch rivals Real Madrid recorded emphatic victories in their respective week 20 Spanish La Liga clashes on Sunday.

Ivan Rakitic, Lionel Messi (2) and Luis Suarez (2) were all on target as Barcelona broke Real Betis’ resolve with five second half goals for an emphatic 5-0 win in Seville.

The convincing win was more than enough to send Ernesto Valverde’s side 11 points clear of nearest challengers Atletico Madrid in what’s increasingly looking like a one-sided title race.

Real Madrid had earlier beaten relegation threatened Deportivo La Coruna 7-1 to move back into the top four ahead of Villareal.

Gareth Bale (2), Cristiano Ronaldo (2), Nacho Fernandes (2) and Luka Modric scored to overturn Adrian Lopez’s opener for Deportivo to lift the pressure on manager Zinedine Zidane.
