Victor Mbaoma Backs Enyimba To Go On Winning Run (AUDIO)

Enyimba forward Victor Mbaoma has backed the Aba Elephants to go on a winning run following their 1-0 win against MFM FC in Lagos.

The reigning Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions snapped a six-game winless run when Abdulrahman Bashir tapped home late on following a goalmouth melee.

The victory was also a first in the league for caretaker manager Fatai Osho and helped the 8-time league winners move up to 16th place on the log.

The Aba Elephants, though, have five games in hand owing to their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup where they have been paired with Guinean side Horoya AC in the quarterfinal.

And Mbaoma who joined from Rivers United this season believes the win in Lagos can serve as a launching pad and help transform their season starting with Sunday’s game against southeast rivals Abia Warriors in Aba.

“This will really help us to go forward because I know that it has really boosted our morale and we know what is at stake,” Mbaoma said. “We just have to actually get better in our league so we just have to find a way to make up for the games that we have.”

“So, we just have to win the games which will start on Sunday again at home so we will try our best to make sure that we win on Sunday.”
