The Lagos State government has appointed Mr. Sola Aiyepeku as the new Executive Chairman of the State’s Sports Commission.
Mr. Aiyepeku takes over from Dr. Kweku Tandoh who had been in charge of the Commission for the past two years.
Mr. Aiyepeku comes with a wealth of private and public sector experience in sports management and marketing.
He runs a sports consultancy and served as special assistant for two years to former Lagos State Sports Commission Executive Chairman Deji Tinubu.
He becomes the third Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission after the late Deji Tinubu and Dr. Kweku Tandoh and would be expected to ensure the Commission’s stated aim of making Lagos “Africa’s sports hub within three years”.
