Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has told busybuddiesng.com that he wants to “build on the momentum” which saw him score 20 goals for former club side Sporting Charleroi as he gets set to make his Ligue 1 debut on Sunday for new club LOSC Lille Metropole.
The hotshot goalscorer found the net 20 times in 36 games for his former Belgian side last season which saw him become one of the most sought after forwards in Europe.
French side LOSC Lille Metropole finally won the race for his signature snapping him up on a five-year contract in a deal valued at £11.70m.
And it appears the 20-year-old who was part of Nigeria’s bronze-winning side at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt has settled in nicely with Lille’s official Twitter handle gushing about his performances in training ahead of Sunday’s opener against Nantes.
Speaking about his expectations for the coming season, the five-time capped national team player who is expected to shoulder the goal-scoring burden for the French side following the sales of Rafael Leao and Nicolas Pepe to AC Milan and Arsenal respectively, told busybuddiesng.com that he aims to continue from where he stopped last season and keep banging in the goals for Lille.
“I want to build on the momentum, it’s important for me to continue from where I stopped with my [former] club, I want to keep on doing well and scoring goals for my club and this is the most important thing for me,” he said.
