Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen continued his incredible rich vein of form in front of goal at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy when he netted in his sixth consecutive home game for Lille in their 2-2 stalemate against Nimes in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Osimhen, 20, has now scored in all six home games for Lille in the league and the Champions League and his form will be pleasing to Gernot Rohr as the Super Eagles get set to take on Brazil on October 13.
The forward drew Christophe Galtier’s men level in the 79th minute with his seventh strike in the league after goals from Renaud Ripart and Kevin Denkey had put the visitor’s ahead following Loic Remy’s opener in the 12th minute.
The former Wolfsburg striker who was named Lille’s player of the month for the second month running has now netted eight times in all competitions for the Great Danes since his move from Belgian side Sporting Charleroi in the summer.
It was also a memorable outing for his Super Eagles teammate Moses Simon who scored the winner for Nantes in their 1-0 win over Nice on Saturday.
The diminutive winger rose highest in the 86th minute to nod home Abdoul Kader Bamba’s cross to win the points for Nantes who now move to second on the log.
Both Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon are expected to report for national duty where they will link up with their teammates for the friendly against six-times world champions Brazil on 13, October.
