Brighton Make Bernardo Their Fourth Summer Signing

Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion have signed Brazilian defender Bernardo from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

The 23-year-old becomes the Seagulls’ fourth signing of the summer after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

He joined RB Leipzig from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg at the start of 2016 and went on to make 49 appearances for the club.

On his latest acquisition, club manager Chris Hughton said: “We’re delighted to welcome Bernardo to the club.”

“He is a strong, committed defender who can play on the left or right, and so his versatility gives us good options at the back.” He added.

Bernardo is the club’s fourth summer signing after goalkeeper Jason Steele, Romanian striker Florian Andone and Nigerian international defender Leon Balogun.
