Roger Federer will return to the world no.1 when the new rankings are released on Monday after he saw off Robin Haase of the Netherlands in their quarterfinal clash at the Rotterdam Open on Friday night.

Federer, 36, defeated Haase 4-6 6-1 6-1 to become the oldest top spot recipient after beating the record of retired tennis player Andre Agassi.
