Brazil Blow As Danilo Is Ruled Out Of World Cup

Brazil have been dealt with a huge blow following news that Manchester City defender Danilo has been ruled out of the rest of the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

The 26-year-old sustained ankle ligaments injury in training on Thursday and has now been ruled out of the tournament though the extent of the damage is still to be determined by Brazilian doctors.

The news is coming on the eve of Brazil’s crucial quarter-final clash with Belgium scheduled for the Kazan Arena in Kazan on Friday evening.

Danilo played the first Group E game, a 1-1 draw with Switzerland, before he was replaced by Corinthians defender Fagner in the last three games including the 2-0 win over Mexico in a last 16 clash.

He became the first choice right back following the news that Paris Saint Germain (PSG) will miss the tournament with an injury.
