The National Division One League is set to commence on Saturday in Benin City, Edo State, the Handball Federation of Nigeria has announced.
The league, a qualifying tournament for the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League, will end on Saturday 17 July.
HFN Secretary-General Maigidansanma Mohammed revealed in a statement that officials of each team will hold a technical meeting on Friday to herald the start of the tournament.
Draws for the men’s and women’s competitions will also hold on Friday.
Maigidansanma also assured that the groundwork has been perfected by the HFN and the Edo State Handball Association to ensure a successful event.
Four teams (two teams apiece from the men’s and women’s draws) will earn promotion into the top tier Prudent Energy Handball Premier League from the tournament.
