Volleyball: Nigeria to Partake in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Qualifiers

Nigeria female volleyball team have registered for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games qualifiers which will feature a two-phase round of qualifiers to start later this year.

According to Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB), three national teams from both genders confirmed their participation in the event ahead of the deadline of February 28th.

Nigeria, Cameroon and Kenya registered for the women’s tournaments while Egypt, Tunisia and Cameroon registered for the men’s qualifiers.

Tokyo Daily News reports that the first phase for the qualification will be held at the continental zones in November and December 2019, while the finals will be organised in January 2020 to determine the African representatives in the Olympic Games.

Egypt represented Africa in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, while Cameroon women represented the other gender.
