Thiago Alcantara: Liverpool Set To Complete Signing Of Bayern Midfielder

Liverpool are on the verge of signing Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich after both clubs for £27m according to reports in England and Germany.

Thiago, 29, has spent seven years with the German giants who he joined from Barcelona in 2013.

The Spain international played in last season’s Champions League final victory over Paris St-Germain.

The player have been linked with the English champions all summer and reports say talks are nearing completion between Liverpool and Bayern over the player, who has one year left on his contract.

Thiago would be Jurgen Klopp’s second summer signing, after Greece left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

Thiago who started his career at Barcelona nearly signed for Manchester United when David Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, but the move did not transpire and he went to Bayern instead.

As well as the Champions League, he has won seven consecutive Bundesliga titles, four German Cups and the Club World Cup with Bayern.
