Managerless Stoke City have secured the signature of Austria right-back Moritz Bauer from Russian side Rubin Kazan for an undisclosed fee.

Bauer, 25, has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal with the managerless Potters, who dismissed Mark Hughes on Sunday following a wretched run of results.

The 4-cap Austrian international only spent 18 months at Rubin Kazan and played 41 times for them.

Right back Moritz Bauer, who previously represented Switzerland until the under-21 level, had earlier joined from Grasshopper Zurich for £3m in 2016.
