Rohr Drops Five Players From World Cup Squad

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has dropped five players from his provisional squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Franco-German tactician has trimmed his squad from 30 to 25 players.

The players dropped from the World Cup squad include goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye, defenders Uche Agbo and Stephen Eze as well as forwards Moses Simon and Junior Lokosa.

The World Cup list will be trimmed again from 25 to 23 players after the friendly match with England at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

FIFA deadline for the submission of various 23-man squads for the tournament is Monday, June 4.
