Ricciardo Wins Chinese GP To Close Gap On Leading Pack

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo has won the 2018 Chinese Grand Prix (GP) to put himself back into the picture for this year’s Formula One championship.

The Australian took his first race of the season in sensational style ahead of Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikonnen.

His Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen finished fourth but was demoted to fifth for causing a collision with championship leader and Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel. To this effect, Defending champion Lewis Hamilton was promoted from fifth to fourth place.

The result means Daniel Ricciardo (37 points) has moved within 17 points of Vettel (54 points) at the top though he is still in 4th spot behind Lewis Hamilton (45 points) and Valtteri Bottas (40 points).
