Premier League champions Manchester City have gone to the top of the table after they thrashed Huddersfield Town 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The game was special for Spanish playmaker David Silva on the occasion of his 250th league appearance.

He has now scored 49 goals and 75 assists in the Premier League.

The win takes Manchester City ahead of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the table.

In the other game played on Sunday afternoon, Watford joined the aforementioned trio on two wins from the first two league games of the season with a 3-1 win at Burnley.
