Southampton Sign Angus Gunn From Manchester City

Premier League side Southampton have signed England U21 goalkeeper Angus Gunn from champions Manchester City.

Gunn, 22, teams up with the Saints after the two clubs agreed a transfer fee believed to be around £13.5m for him and subsequently put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

According to reports, Southampton will make an initial payment of £10m plus £3.5m in add-ons.

He impressed many clubs while he was on loan at English Championship side Norwich City last season before the Saints jumped ahead of others to secure his transfer.

Gunn becomes the club’s third signing of the summer after Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi.

He will fight for the Saints’ first-choice goalkeeping role alongside current holder Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster.
