AUDIO: Why Imama Was Arrested – Chukwu

General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Rangers Christian Chukwu has revealed to www.busybuddiesng.com why former coach of the side, Imama Amapakabo was arrested by the Police.

Amapakabo was fired by Rangers in April after guiding the club to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title last season, following a 32 –year wait.

According to Chukwu – a former captain and coach of Rangers – the arrest and detention of Amapakabo was made because the Super Eagles assistant chief coach is still in possession of the club’s properties including an official car and keys to his former apartment.

“Government needs their car. Government needs the keys of the apartment because Imama’s replacement (Chukwuma Agbo) reported to the state Governor that he doesn’t have an official car and upon enquiry, the Governor was informed that Imama was with the car,”Chukwu said.

“The government then took action to recover the car.

“The government discovered that the official apartment for the new coach (Chukwuma Agbo) is still under lock and key, and subsequently ordered for his (Imama) arrest to enable him unlock the apartment . Rangers as a club have no hand in his arrest at all.”

Imama was arrested in Abuja on Wednesday by security operatives.

Reports claim he is being owed N28million as his severance package after leaving Rangers.
