Liverpool Youngster Signs New Long-Term Deal With Club

Young Liverpool forward Ben Woodburn has penned a new long-term deal with the club.

Woodburn, 18, became the Reds’ youngest goalscorer after he scored in the EFL Cup quarter-final victory over Leeds United (2-0) last season. He surpassed Michael Owen’s record with the new record of 17 years and 45 days.

On his new deal, Woodburn said:

“This is the club I want to stay at and be here as long as possible.”

“When I was told, all I wanted to do was sign the contract. It feels good. Now I just want to carry on and hopefully show the manager what I can do.

“I think there is loads of room for improvement. I’ve just got to keep working and trying in training every day and hopefully I will improve.” he added.

Ben Woodburn has scored once in 10 appearances for Liverpool.

He has also made his debut for Wales scoring in his first game against oAustria in September and has now won four caps in total.
