Liverpool Beat 10-Man Palace To Go Second

Liverpool are up to second on the Premier League table following their 2-0 win over 10-man Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the last match of week two.

The London club proved tough to break down for the Reds until former Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho tripped star player Mohamed Salah in the box.

James Milner stepped up to score the penalty and edge Liverpool ahead on 45 minutes.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker made some saves to keep his side in the game after the halftime interval and the five-time European champions were handed a big reprieve when Crystal Palace defender Aaron Van Bissaka was sent off for denying Salah a clear goalscoring opportunity.

In-form Senegalese forward Sadio Mane then wrapped up the victory for Liverpool in added time.

The victory takes Liverpool to second spot and behind Manchester City on the Premier League table, while Palace drop two places from 8th to 10th as a result of their first league defeat in the new season.
