Red-hot Iheanacho Can’t Stop Scoring

Kelechi Iheanacho continued his red-hot goalscoring form for Leicester with his 11th goal in 8 games as the Foxes saw off West Brom 3-0 in a Premier League encounter at the Kings Power stadium on Thursday.

The 24-year-old Nigerian scored Leicester’s third in the 36th-minute from a Jamie Vardy pass to take his tally to 16 goals for the season – a career best total for a single campaign.

Iheanacho’s goal was his ninth in the league this season, beating his previous best of eight for Manchester City in the 2015/2016 and he becomes the 6th highest goal scoring Nigerian in the Premier League with 30 goals.

Vardy opened the scoring for the Foxes in the 23rd minute and Johnny Evans doubled their lead three minutes later as Brendan Rodgers’ side ran amok in the first half.

There were to be no further goals in the game as Leicester coasted through the second half to strengthen their chase for a Champions League place.

Rodgers’ side are third on the log, four points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea.

West Brom, meanwhile, look increasingly doomed as a first defeat in three games leaves them nine points from safety.
