Atalanta Thrash Frosinone To Go Top In Serie A

Europa League campaigners Atalanta have gone to the top of the Italian Serie A table after they thrashed newly promoted outfit Frosinone 4-0 in their opening league game of the season at the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia in Bergamo.

Star man Alejandro Gomez scored twice for the home side in addition to further strikes from Hans Hateboer and Chelsea loanee Mario Pasalic, whose goals came inbetween the Argentine playmaker’s brace.

The convincing win over Frosinone takes Atalanta to the top of the table and above the sextet of SPAL 2013, Sassuolo, Roma, Napoli, defending champions Juventus and previous leaders Empoli, who defeated Cagliari 2-0 on Sunday.
