German Bundesliga Review: Frankfurt Go Second After Impressive Gladbach Win

Eintracht Frankfurt have surprisingly moved into second spot on the German Bundesliga table after they secured an impressive 2-0 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach on Friday night.

Ghanaian international midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng gave the home side the lead two minutes before the interval and that was how the scoreline stayed until Gladbach had the chance to level proceedings from the penalty spot through Thorgan Hazard in the last 15 minutes of the game.

The Belgian forward missed the fantastic opportunity to get the equaliser for his side and he was duly punished after Luka Jovic wrapped up the important win in added time.

The win takes Eintracht Frankfurt (33 points) above Borussia Moenchengladbach and five places up the table from 7th to 2nd while Gladbach (31 points) drop from 5th to 6th on the log.
