Don’t Judge Us On Friendlies – Eagles New Boy Simy

Super Eagles new boy Simeon ‘Simy’ Nwankwo has called on Nigerian fans to believe in the team ahead of the forthcoming World Cup tournament in Russia and not judge based on warm up friendly games.

The Crotone striker was speaking in a chat with CSN as he said: “We have learnt from the games we played and I believe we won’t make those mistakes when the World Cup begins.”

“We know what is at stake and how Nigerians hope we start on a good note. Croatia will be tough but we know how to approach the game.” He added.

Simy further revealed that he’s ready to take the opportunity to feature at the World Cup when he’s given one. He said: “The spirit in camp is awesome and I can’t wait to seize this rare opportunity to play at the biggest stage in Russia.”

The team will leave their pre-World Cup camp in Austria tomorrow for Russia aboard a chartered flight on Monday ahead of their Group D opener against Croatia on June 16.

Nigeria will setup their training camp for the World Cup in the city of Yessentuki.

Yessentuki is a city in Stavropol Krai, Russia and it’s located at the base of the Caucasus Mountains.
