Arsenal and Everton finished what has been a group stage campaign of contrasting fortunes for both English teams in the UEFA Europa League (UEL) with respective heavy wins on Matchday 6.
The Gunners were already through to the first knockout stage as Group H winners and they showed their credentials again with an emphatic 6-0 mauling of BATE Borisov at the Emirates Stadium.
Goals from Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud, Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy and Mohammed Elneny ensured that Arsenal finished their impressive group stage campaign with a flourish.
For Everton, a torrid campaign ended on a bright note after goals from Ademola Lookman (2) and Nicolas Vlasic gave the Toffees a 3-0 win at Apollon Limassol in Group E.
The two teams were already eliminated before Matchday 6 though Everton moved off the bottom into third spot with the win while their opponents replaced them at the foot of the final group table.
