Nigeria’s female U20 team, Falconets have started their foreign tour on a winning note as head coach Christopher Danjuma and his girls step up preparation for this year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup tournament in France.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 5 to 24 and the Falconets have been drawn in Group D alongside former champions Germany, China PR and Haiti.

The Falconets are currently on a pre-World Cup training tour to Austria.

The team thrashed Austrian apex women side FC Bergheim 3-0 on Sunday to start the tour on a winning note with goals from Adebisi Saheed, Monday Gift and an own goal.

Danjuma and his girls will continue their preparation in Tirol, Austria with two training sessions on Tuesday before facing an unnamed women team in a friendly.
