Operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS) on Monday morning stormed the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Secretariat to effect the ejection of Ambassador Chris Giwa and his board members.
The Giwa-led faction has been in a leadership tussle with incumbent NFF President Amaju Melvin Pinnick.
He had taken charge of the Glass House since July 2 following an exparte order from the Supreme Court ruling on April 27 and enforced by the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.
DSS Operatives while carrying out the operation of ejecting Giwa from the NFF Secretariat revealed that they were acting according to instructions from above.
The new development is coming in the wake of FIFA’s threat to ban Nigeria from all football-related activities.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino made the threat known while speaking on Friday, July 13 at a press conference in Moscow before the World Cup final.
The Italian-Swiss also revealed that the international football body only recognises the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF President and that Nigeria risk being banned if the nation continue to act against FIFA Statutes and code.
