Former Arsenal Player To Return In ‘Director Of Football’ Role – Reports

Widespread reports have revealed that North London side Arsenal have agreed a deal with former player Marc Overmars to become the club’s director of football as from next season.

Arsenal have reportedly been keen to appoint a director of football for several years but have met with a resistance in the form of manager Arsene Wenger.

However, that is set to change with Wenger getting ever closer to the end of his long reign at the club.

According to popular Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal have already reached an agreement with Dutchman Overmars about assuming the role as from next season.

Marc Overmars is not new to the role having been the director of football at Dutch club Ajar Amsterdam since 2012.
