Premier League leaders eventually made light work of their FA Cup 3rd round clash with fellow top flight side Burnley at the Eithad Stadium following the 4-1 defeat they handed out to Sean Dyche’s men.
Burnley took a first half lead through Ashley Barnes before goals from Sergio Aguero (2), Leroy Sane and substitute Bernardo Silva in the second half ensured that the hosts produced a stirring fightback to book a 4th round spot.
Last season’s finalists Chelsea have a lot of work to do to book a 4th round place after they struggled to break down English Championship side Norwich City at Carrow Road as both sides played out a boring goalless draw in their 3rd round clash.
Both sides will meet for an unwanted 3rd round replay at Stamford Bridge to determine who will be in the 4th round.
