Sarri Blocks Loftus-Cheek Transfer To Rival London Club

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has blocked a move from West Ham to take Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan in the January transfer window. The England international is wanted by Manuel Pellegrini in the to strengthen the Hammers in the center.

But Sarri has ruled out Loftus-Cheek being transferred anywhere this season, even though the 22-year old’s only three starts of the season have come in two Europa League ties and last week’s Carabao Cup win over Derby.

Last summer, he was loaned out by former manager Antonio Conte, Loftus-Cheek’s performances for Crystal Palace were enough to convince Gareth Southgate to include him in the England squad for the World Cup finals.

Although he made four appearances in Russia, he has been limited to just three Premier League appearances this season which were all from the bench.

He showed what he’s capable of with a hat-trick in their last Europa League game against BATE Borisov, then followed that up with another goal as a sub at Burnley three days later.

This would not be the first time West Ham have tried to get the midfielder as they also tried to capture the academy graduate on loan last summer, but got knocked back by their London rivals then as well.
