Onazi Praises Rohr For Quick Return To Fitness

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has praised head coach Gernot Rohr for his quick recovery from injury.

He also revealed that the Franco-German tactician masterminded how the Super Eagles’ physical trainer came to work him at his Turks club Trabzonspor.

Speaking about his fitness levels via Vanguard, Onazi said: “I wish to thank coach Gernot Rohr for getting the Eagles physical trainer to come and work with me at my club,” Onazi revealed.

“I’m now 100% fit and ready for the World Cup.” he added.

On Eagles’ World Cup opponents, Onazi stressed the importance of the first two games against Croatia and Iceland. He said: “It’s most important to get the first two games, but I believe if we won our games, we will go through, that’s the mentality we will take to the World Cup,” he said.

The former Lazio star also revealed that his immediate target is to help Trabzonspor clinch a UEFA Europa League (UEL) spot with the club currently fifth on the league table with 49 points from 32 games.
