Newcastle United have all but ended Manchester United’s unlikely title challenge after the Magpies stunned their opponents 1-0 in their Premier League clash at the St. James Park on Sunday evening.

Manchester United enjoyed the better of the proceedings for an hour but failed to take their chances with stars like Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez the biggest culprits.

Newcastle United thereafter capitalised on United’s indecisiveness in defence as Matt Ritchie produced a close range finish on 65 minutes for the only goal of the game.

The win further dents Manchester United’s unlikely challenge with the Old Trafford now 16 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City (72 points) while Newcastle United climb out of the relegation zone (19th spot) into 13th position.
