Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has tipped the French national team to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The second round clash would be a repeat of the Brazil 2014 World Cup last 16 fixture at Estadio Nacional Mane Garrincha in Brasilia.

France scored two late goals to beat Nigeria 2-0 before they were beaten by eventual winners Germany in the quarters.

The Portuguese was speaking about the World Cup tournament while on Russian Television RT.

He had earlier predicted that France will top Group C while Gernot Rohr’s team will finish as the second-placed side from Group D behind two-time world champions Argentina.

In his words, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss said: “France vs. Nigeria … I would say that the French will be stronger.”
