Croatian stars Danijel Subasic and Mario Mandzukic have disclosed that the team is ready for their Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup Group D opening match with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Both teams will face off at the Kaliningrad Stadium in the Russian city of Kaliningrad on Saturday.
The players spoke at a pre-World Cup press conference in Russia on Tuesday.
In his words via Sport Express Russia, Subasic said: “It’s very important for me to be here. I was the second or third goalkeeper for ten years, but now I’m number one and I’m really looking forward to playing with Nigeria.”
”Now for us the most important thing is to win in the first match. If it works out, then it will be easier.” He stated further.
Mandžukić added : ”Today is only Tuesday, and the game on Saturday. We still do not know the starting lineup. I can say that I will be ready for the game with Nigeria.”
