Iwobi Faces £60k Fine After Breaking Arsenal Curfew Before Nottingham Forest Debacle

Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi is facing a fine of £60k after reports revealed that he broke Arsenal curfew before the Gunners’ disappointing 4-2 loss to English Championship side Nottingham Forest in their FA Cup 3rd Round clash on Sunday evening.

Iwobi featured for 90 minutes as holders Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup at that stage for the first time since 1996 (22 years).

According to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, the forward will be fined if those reports were true.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Arsenal’s Carabao Cup Semifinal 1st leg clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening, Wenger said: “The night before we were in a hotel, but it’s not acceptable and I will have to speak to him about that.”

Speaking further on stories about Iwobi partying on the weekend of Arsenal’s FA Cup defeat, the Frenchman said: “If that is true he will be fined. It is impossible to go out 48 hours before the game, and it’s unacceptable.”

Alex Iwobi was caught on camera in a house party on Saturday morning and he is expected to be fined to the tune of £60k.
