Victor Moses Set To Reunite With Antonio Conte At Inter Milan

Victor Moses is close to signing for Inter Milan after agreeing personal terms with the Serie A club according to reports in Italy.

Respected transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development via a tweet on his Twitter handle on Monday.

The former Super Eagles star has long been linked with a move to Italy after Inter’s chief executive Beppe Marotta said the Nigerian was a top transfer target this window.

If completed, the move will reunite the 29-year-old with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte under whom Moses won the English Premier League in 2016-2017 and the FA Cup the following year.

The Chelsea player is currently suffering from a thigh strain which has kept him out of action for a few weeks although it is not thought the injury is serious enough to put off the transfer.

Moses had been on an 18-month loan at Turkish topflight side Fernebache whom he joined in January of 2019 but has made only seven appearances all season following fitness struggles.

The former Super Eagles star will likely reprise the right wing-back role in Conte’s favoured 3-5-2 system which he deployed to devastating effect in the two years he played under the Italian in England.

Any move though will depend on parent club sanctioning the deal.

Prior to his retirement from the Super Eagles after the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Victor Moses won 38 caps and scored 12 goals for the national team and was instrumental to their triumph at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa under the late Stephen Keshi.

Inter are currently second in Serie A, four points adrift of Juventus and are aiming to win their first Serie A title since 2010.
