Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has denied widespread reports making the round that young Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Uzoho will be the team’s first choice goalkeeper at this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Rohr said this while speaking on a radio show (Mega Sports) on Wednesday and also confirmed that the recent attention given to Uzoho from the coaching crew will also extend to the other goalkeepers.
In his words, Rohr said: “Uzoho is working hard, but he is only third choice keeper at La Coruna, and very young. Let’s work on all our goalkeepers.”
“We will give the same attention to Alampasu, Agu will work on the local lads as well. We will work equally with all the goalkeepers we have available, even with Akpeyi in South Africa.” he added.
