Ezenwa Eager to Rejoin Enyimba To Make Team Better (Audio)

Home-based Super Eagles captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa says he is eager to team-up with his club Enyimba following a knee injury that cut short his campaign at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco last month.

The Eagles shot stopper is yet to officially kick a ball for the 7-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions after joining the People’s Elephants from FC IfeanyiUbah in the off-season.

Ezenwa is in the final phase of his rehabilitation, and he told www.busybuddiesng.com that he can’t wait to rejoin the 2-time CAF Champions League winners this weekend.

“By the special grace of God, I will be joining Enyimba this weekend,” the former Flying Eagles star said. “And I will team-up with my brothers there in the team to make sure we move the team forward to a greater height.

“I can’t wait to make my debut with Enyimba football club of Aba.”

Ezenwa also disclosed that his game has improved a lot following his participation at the 2018 CHAN, and hopes it will be evident when he eventually plays for Enyimba and the World Cup-bound Super Eagles.

“I think there are special things (I’ve learnt from CHAN) but I will keep them to myself and make use of them whenever I’m playing for my club, Enyimba and the national team,” the 29-year old said.

At Enyimba, Ezenwa is expected to face competition from Ghanaian Fatau Dauda, who was first choice in his absence and Theophilus Afelokhai, who was also part of the CHAN tournament in Morocco.
