Iheanacho Extends Leicester City Deal

Kelechi Iheanacho has signed a two-year extension with Leicester City until 2024.

The Super Eagles forward’s previous deal was due to run out in 2022 but he will now stay with the Foxes for two additional years.

The extension is a reward for a stunning run of form that saw Iheanacho score seven goals in five games in March, leading to a Premier League Player of the Month gong for the former Manchester City ace.

“Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has signed a new deal with the Club, keeping him at King Power Stadium until at least 2024,” the Foxes said in a statement on Saturday.

Iheanacho who has scored 12 goals in 28 games for Brendan Rodgers’ side expressed great happiness on extending his deal at the KingsPower.

“I can’t express how I’m feeling. I’m excited, I’m happy, I’m overwhelmed! It’s a great moment and I’m happy that Leicester City gave me a new contract,” he said.

“It’s been a great time here. It’s not been easy, but there’s a lot of people here that are good people, great people to work with. They are nice people and they make me feel comfortable and welcome since I came in.

“It’s been really great being here. It’s like a family. I’m happy being here and hopefully I can stay here many more years.”

Iheanacho joined Leicester in 2017 for £25m and has scored 32 goals in 117 games for the Foxes.
