German champions Bayern Munich have extended their lead at the top of the league table to nine points following their narrow 1-0 home win over basement club FC Cologne.

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski struck on the hour mark to give his side another win in the quest to retain their German Bundesliga title.

Schalke 04 are up to 2nd place after goals from Argentine striker Franco Di Santo, Guido Burgstaller and Daniel Caligiuri propelled the team to a 3-2 win over Augsburg at home.
