FIFA Club World Cup Latest: Madrid Survive Al Jazira Scare To Secure Gremio Final Clash

Holders Real Madrid survived a little setback against Al Jazira to seal a final meeting with Brazilian side Gremio with a 2-1 win over their hosts at the Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Al Jazira goalkeeper Ali Khaseif was in fine form as he thwarted Madrid on several occasions before Brazilian forward Romarinho gave the home side a shock lead four minutes before the interval.

Ali Khaseif continued his heroics after the break until he was powerless to stop Ronaldo’s 53rd minute equaliser for the Los Merengues.

Zinedine Zidane’s men continued to pile on the pressure for the remainder of the second half and it eventually paid off when substitute Gareth Bale scored to break Al Jazira hearts with nine minutes left on the clock.

The defending champions will now face Brazilian opposition in the form of Germio in Saturday’s final.

Gremio had earlier beaten Mexican side Pachuca 1-0 after extra time to book a place in the final.[tps_title][/tps_title]
