German Bundesliga Review: Aubameyang-less Dortmund Falter Again As Cologne Secure Late Win Against Gladbach

Gabon striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was left out out of the Borussia Dortmund squad for disciplinary reasons and his side paid dearly with a disappointing goalless draw against VFL Wolfsburg at home on Sunday .

The toothless display from Dortmund without their leading goalscorer means that the Signa Iduna Park outfit are now 15 points adrift of league leaders Bayern Munich to all but drop out of the title race.

In the earlier game on Sunday, bottom club FC Cologne (9 points) gave themselves a fighting chance in the relegation battle following their late winner against Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Simon Terodde scored on the stroke of fulltime to give his side a 2-1 win after Borussia Moenchengladbach’s Brazilian defender Raffael had cancelled out Frederik Sorensen’s opening goal.

They are now eight points away from safety by virtue of the late win.
