NPFL: Akwa United Duo Top Latest 2019 NPFL Goal Scoring Chart

Akwa United duo, Mfon Udoh and Ndifreke Effiong are currently among the highest goal scorers in the Nigeria Professional Football League after Matchday 8. 

The duo who appended their signatures for the Uyo based side this season have scored four goals apiece so far. 

Ndifreke Effiong who has been a target for the Elder Paul Bassey led management for a couple of seasons was unveiled at the Nest of Champions after leaving Abia Warriors at the end of last season alongside Enyimba’s ex-captain, Mfon Udoh. 

On Matchday 3, Effiong grabbed the vital goal which gifted Akwa their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw against Kano Pillars just like Mfon Udoh’s brace gifted Everton’s men their first point at home against Plateau United. Mfon Udoh later helped Akwa grab their first win of the season on the road against Yobe Desert Stars. 

Against Go Round FC at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the 20-year-old got on the scoresheet in a game which ended 3-0 in favour of the Promise Keepers.

On Matchday 8, the former Abia Warrior’s talisman made yet another statement by scoring in both halves of the encounter that saw Akwa maul 10th placed Kada City, 4-0.

Sunshine Star’s Faud Ekelojuoti and Gombe United’s USMAN equally top the goal scoring chart with four goals each.

Twelve goals have been equally shared by Chinonso Okonkwo of Heartland FC, Abba Umar of Wikki Tourists, Abdulrahman Bashir of Enyimba and Adeniji Kabir of MFM FC.
