Fenerbahce Complete Loan Transfer For Islam Slimani

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have secured the loan signing of Algerian international striker Islam Slimani from Premier League side Leicester City.

The 30-year-old joins Fenerbahce on a season-long loan from the former Premier League champions.

He struggled for consistent playing time with the Foxes since moving to the King Power Stadium for a club-record €30m transfer fee from Portuguese Super League club Sporting Lisbon.

Islam Slimani netted 39 times in his final two seasons at Sporting with 27 of those goals coming in his final campaign.

He struggled to match those figures at Leicester City.

The Algerian hitman scored seven goals in 13 starts and 23 appearances before netting just once in two starts and 12 appearances.

His poor form prompted the club to loan him out to Newcastle United on a short-term loan but still continued his struggles with injury and form.

He made just one start and four appearances in total without hitting the back of the net.

Islam Slimani would be hoping he can resurrect his career in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
