Dessers Subbed On, Balogun Returns From Injury As Rangers Go Top

Cyriel Dessers was in action for Rangers who thrashed St. Johnstone 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Rangers now on 64 points, replace rivals Celtic (62points) at the top of the table.

Dessers replaced Portuguese player Fabio Silva in the 69th minute for his 23rd league appearance.

His Nigerian teammate Leon Balogun was on the bench after returning from injury.

Mohammed Diomande and James Tavernier were the scorers for Rangers.

Diomande opened the scoring for Rangers in the 37th minute before Tavernier made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on 79 minutes.

Rangers were awarded another penalty and once again Tavernier converted it to make 3-0 on 87 minutes.
