German Bundesliga Wrap: Bayern Extend Lead With Hannover Win

League leaders Bayern Munich have stretched their lead at the top to 6 points following their 3-1 win over Hannover 96 at the Allianz Arena.

Arturo Vidal, Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski (penalty) scored the goals for the Bavarian giants as they capitalised on the 4-0 thrashing their nearest challengers (RB Leipzig) received from their hosts TSG Hoffenheim to increase their advantage.

Borussia Dortmund continue to plunge deeper on the table after the latest setback, a 1-1 draw against 10-man Bayer Leverkusen at the Bay Arena.

Kevin Volland gave the home side the lead on the half hour mark but they were reduced to 10 men some eleven minutes later when their Brazilian left back Wendell was given his marching orders for a straight red card.

Dortmund didn’t capitalise on that numerical advantage until the second half when Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko equalised for Peter Bosz’ team. They however failed to bag a winner with the draw moving them down one place to 6th spot on the log.
