Carabao Cup Round of 16 Wrap: Teenage Striker Rescues Arsenal As Bravo Leads City Into Quarters

Teenage striker Eddie Nketiah was the hero for Arsenal as he netted two goals as a substitute to help the Gunners secure a quarterfinal spot on the 2017 Carabao Cup after a 2-1 win over stubborn Norwich City on 120 minutes.

Nketiah, 18, scored with his first touch to equalise for Arsenal after he had come on for Reiss Nelson with five minutes left on the clock and with his side trailing to a first half strike from Josh Murphy.

The goal was enoigh to force extra time following a 1-1 scoreline at fulltime. In the first half of extra time, he completed his brace after powering home a header off a corner kick and that was how it stayed until the end of extra time as Arsenal secured a place in the last eight.

English Premier League (EPL) leaders Manchester City are also through to the quarterfinal after they needed a hero in Claudio Bravo during their penalty shootout victory. After a goalless draw at fulltime and extra time, City won 4-1 on penalties against the English Championship thanks to Bravo.

England international player Jesse Lingard scored two goals as his Manchester United side defeated Welsh club Swansea City 2-0 to join the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City.
