Iheanacho Stars For Club In Carabao Cup Win

Super Eagles of Nigeria forward finally showed why the immediate past English champions Leicester City paid a whooping sum of £25m for his services after he starred for the club in a comeback win over English Championship side Leeds United in their Carabao Cup last 16 clash.

Leeds United had taken a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute through Pablo Hernandez before the Iheanacho show took off. He netted the equaliser some four minutes later from 18 yards out before making the assist for the second goal scored by Algerian striker Islam Slimani in the 70th minute.

Substitute Riyad Mahrez added a third goal with two minutes remaining as Leicester City under caretaker manager Michael Appleton booked their spot in the quarterfinal with a 3-1 win.

Leicester City join other clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Bournemouth and Bristol City in the last eight of the competition.
