CAF Unveils Pan African Interschool Competition

The Confederation of African Football, on Saturday, unveiled a pilot interschool competition in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo.

CAF president Dr Patrice Motsepe signed the agreement establishing the project alongside CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba, FIFA Secretary-General, Fatma Samoura, the Minister of Sports and Recreation of the DRC, Marcel Amos Mbayo Kitenge and the President of the Congolese Football Federation (“FECOFA”), Constant Omari.

Dr Motsepe stated that the pilot interschool competition will lead to the establishment of an interschool competition in the six African zones resulting in a Pan-African school’s championship final.

He also said that one of the best investments in the future and success of African football is to invest in school’s football and the building of youth football academies for boys and girls.
