Ezenwa Plays Down Injury Sustained In NPFL Clash

Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has allayed fears over the injury he sustained while in action for Enyimba.

Ezenwa was forced off in the second half of the Aba-based side’s rescheduled Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) clash with their hosts Kwara United.

While speaking after the game which ended 1-1, Ezenwa told his club’s media that the injury was a minor one.

In his words, he said: “It was just a minor injury. I have to thank God, it was not a serious blow.”

”Ezenwa is coming back (to training) in just about two or three days I will start training. I thank God for everything.” he added.

On his availability for the crucial CAF Confederation Cup second leg match against Bidvest Wits F.C , Ezenwa said : ”The doctor has given me some ice and other medication.”

”I think by the grace of God I will be fine before the CAF Confederation Cup. The most important thing is that I want to let my fans all over the world and in Nigeria know that it is not a serious blow, it’s just a normal injury that happens to a player and in a couple of days I will start training.” he concluded.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa joined Enyimba before the start of the season but was only making his 2nd appearance of the season against Kwara United due to injury problems and national team assignments.
