Bundesliga Review: Dortmund Thrash Leipzig To Take Top Spot

Borussia Dortmund ended week one of the new German Bundesliga season following the 4-1 win over RB Leipzig at the Signa Iduna Park on Sunday evening.

The visitors stunned Dortmund through a first minute strike from French forward Jean Kevin Augustin but the home side recovered well from that setback with three first half goals.

Mahmoud Dahoud, Marcel Sabitzer (own goal) and Belgian World Cup star Axel Witsel were all on target to give the 1997 Champions League winners a 3-1 lead at the break.

Marco Reus wrapped up the emphatic win in added time to send Dortmund to the top of the table.

In the other game on Sunday, Nigerian striker Anthony Ujah came off the bench to score the winning goal for Mainz 05 in a 1-0 home win over VfB Stuttgart.
